Is an 'AMP' template option a good one ?

I have a site that is likely to be viewed mainly on mobile devices. Is the AMP template option a good one, I realise there’s some Richosoft stuff that doesn’t work on AMP sites.

Thanks
Kev

  • AMP is very restrictive on what you can do with it. You have to use only Google AMP scripts so cannot use it for dynamic content and cannot add any standard javascript or inline styles. All javascript must be Google AMP scripts and be in the head. All styles must be in special AMP style sheets and correctly configured to AMP requirements. If you are only creating a basic static site then AMP will work, but if you want some custom scripts and styles then you are best using a V3 or V4 theme.
